Statement of Faith
It is our desire that the children of HighPointe Academy become strong in spirit and in character, grow in their knowledge of Christ, and live out their faith in their academic, personal and professional lives in ways that honor and please God (Col 1:10). Therefore, the following foundational beliefs are set forth as the basic, guiding biblical principles of the center:
God: We believe that there is one true God. He is the Creator. He is Sovereign. He is the Lord who sustains, rules, and by grace, redeems. We believe that God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God is love and that He is passionate about His relationship with people. See Gen 1:1; Ps 135:6; Dan 4:34-35; Ps 54:4; Ps 103:19; Ps 34:22; Matt 28:19; Luke 3:22; 1 John 4:8; Ex 34:14.
Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He became flesh; born of a virgin and conceived by the Holy Spirit and given the name Jesus Christ. He lived a life on earth both holy and perfect, without sin. Jesus Christ died a sacrificial death on a cross for our sins. On the third day, by the power of God, He rose from the dead. Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God. See John 1:14; Matt 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35; 1 Peter 2:22; 2 Cor 5:21; Luke 24:39; 1 Cor 6:14; Acts 2:33.
Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit continues the work of spiritual growth begun at the time of salvation. The Holy Spirit dwells within our hearts and produces in us the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. See Rom 8:25; Gal 5:22-23.
The Bible: We believe the Bible is the inspired and unfailing Word of God. The Bible is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness. See 2 Tim 3:15-17.
Salvation: We believe that salvation is by God’s grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. See Eph 2:8; Rom 10:13.
Prayer: We believe that prayer is an intimate and essential part of a person’s growing and maturing relationship with Christ. We believe that it is how we communicate with the Lord our God. See Matt 6:6 and James 5:16b.
Servant Leaders: We believe that as followers of Jesus Christ we are called to serve God through serving others. We believe that whomever wishes to become great among men shall be a servant of men and that we should model our lives after the life of Christ, in that the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve. See Matt 20:26; Matt 20:28.
Heaven: We believe that heaven is the everlasting reward and eternal home for all believers. We believe that every person has a choice to accept Christ and spend eternity with Him in heaven, or to reject Christ and spend eternity apart from Him. "Therefore, [...] stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." See 1 Cor. 15:58.
It is the foundational aim and purpose that every child of HighPointe Academy be continually nurtured, encouraged, and challenged toward greater excellence in every academic and personal arena of life in order to be equipped in becoming more respectable and productive citizens as life-long Christian servants to God.
